Vintage Loudspeakers.
This page lists various speakers and loudspeakers, mostly new old stock from the 50's, 60's and 70's.
All prices are inclusive of GST. I am able to organise freight, if required. Cost varies with destination.
For schools wishing to order, I am able to provide ABN and invoice the school.
I am also able to install these speaker drivers if required. There is an extra charge for this off course, which depends on the time required. Please note that some of these speakers have the slide on connectors, but some, like the Jensen, Rola etc have connectors that require soldering. Soldering this sort of connection is not difficult, but does require a good solder joint as there is a bit of current flowing, and if something comes loose, well, your amp may not appreciate it.
Fender P.S.15 guitar speaker
Made in the early 70's by Cerwin Vega, and originally used in the Fender Vibrasonic amplifier of around 1972.
Other than me testing it out recently for a few minutes, it has never been used, and is still in it's original cardboard box. I aquired this from a friend who purchased it new in the 70's, but never got round to using it. I was there at the time he purchased it so know this to be the case.
On testing it, sounded pretty good. The silver coil shield was the guitar version. Apparently there was a bass version that had a plain paper cone coloured coil shield.

Alnico 14.4 inch Guitar Speaker
Looks to be an old, very solidly cast and made alnico style speaker. On the back of the magnet is written "Z6833". On the cone appears to be stamped "000 Off". On the round magnet inside the square magnet cover is written NKS-5DG.
Appears to be an 8 ohm unit based on measurements. Don't know the wattage.
This speaker was a real surprise. Went to install it into a 15" cabinet. Didn't fit. It appears to be something odd like a 14.4" speaker or something around there. The other surprise was that,after making an adaptor baffle, is sound absolutely fantastic. I have not sampled every speaker around, but this has to be up there as one of the best, if not the best speaker I have played with. Beautiful crisp top end witout being nasty, and the bottom end is nice and smooth. Worth building a cab just for this.
This speaker was obtained from a distributor warehouse that closed down. It was in stock for replacement parts but never used, so is effectively new.

Celestion G12H Guitar Speaker
This speaker is brand new and in perfect condition. I purchased it from a music disytributor that was closing down some years ago. They had it in stock for replacement parts.
30 watts, 8 ohm, made in England.
Price $250.
Guya 12 inch Speakers
Guya were a Japanese company, and one speaker is labelled as made in Japan. Model number is GSG.300509. Both speakers also have SK2136EL stamped on them.
There are 2 of these available. One is missing the label. Both these speakers had issues with the braids, which were easily repaired by Open Ear Audio. Dick form Open Ear also thought that these looked like Celestions.
They do sound great, and like some sort of Celestion to me.
8 Ohm, and I'm guessing at least 60 watts, by the size and weight of the magnets.

10 inch Speakers
Etone 141 10 inch Speaker
This speaker may have had some use, but it is in perfect condition. 16 OHM. Made in Australia.
I have tested in a cabinet with a guitar amp and it sounds great, particularly with distortion and turned up a bit.
I don't know it's wattage rating but it is a heavy speaker with a huge magnet. Would have to be around 80 or 100 watts.

Celestion G10 Greenback
This speaker may have had some use, but it is in perfect condition. 30 watt. Labelled T5646B, G10 Greenback, made in UK, FC28 8 OHM.
Price $100.
Alnico 10 inch Speaker
An old alnico style speaker. In very good condition. The speaker cone is labelled "23200" "KEJDA" This suggests its made by Magnavox. On the magnet is written "YCM-1". 8 ohm.
Price $50.
RPG 8 inch Speaker
Made in Taiwan, brand new in it's original box. Twin cone.
